Hello, fellow Journalism friends,
If you're interested in finding out more about "ambush journalism", don't look any further! I will provide you in this entry with some more information on this exciting and also important journalistic genre.
First of all, there is a lot of negative things to be found about ambush journalism. Whether if it's ethical or not... whether if it's the right approach...whether if it's acceptable for a journalist's work and so on. What do you think? Can people really be "victims" of ambush journalism? Or is this just a made up story for people to distract from the truth that needs to be reveiled?
I can't wait to hear some of your opinions. Send me a private message and I will get back to you (button "send feedback").
Thank you!

More studying...
Hello Journalism friends,
Here I am, finished with sensational journalism. So glad it is over. But I really enjoyed this topic very much.
Now, since I'm interested in many things - it's a curse and a blessing - I decided to study some more modules until at least the end of this year. So the one I've started recently is "Ambush Journalism". Have you ever caught someone off guard? Well, that's what ambush journalism is about. It's about getting someone to give an interview in a kind of persuasive-aggressive way. I'd say, that's something that I will have to learn about. It's not a rare thing that someone doesn't want to give an interview to a journalist. So here is a good way to learn about the "theory" behind it.
Current examples make this module a pretty interesting one!
More to come next week in my entry. Stay tuned!

Sensational Journalism
Hello everyone,
I've started with sensational journalism and am almost finished at this point. I can't highlight enough the today's impact on sensational journalism. It's truly affecting our lives... just turn on the TV! Or read a newspaper/online magazine or whatever. It's everywhere. I decided to study this module for exactly that reason.
Since it's almost finished, I can review the module a bit: I like the writing, the chapters are precise and clearly written, and the information is state-of-the-art material. I'm really happy with it. So glad I took it!
Even though I'm pretty sure that my career won't be in sensational journalism, it is good to know how it works!
Well, since I have to work today, this is only a short entry. More to come next week!

The importance of peace journalism
Hello journalism friends,
As some of you already know, I've recently started a module called "Peace Journalism". It's a great joy and I can't highlight the importance of this journalistic genre enough. That's why I decided to devote my next entry to this important topic.
I've did some research aside from just reading the module (which was great, btw). I've found some quite interesting stuff: http://www.peacejournalism.org/Peace_Journalism/Welcome.html
That is just one example. I had no idea there was such an outlet and source of information on the internet. Apparently, people around the world are getting more an more aware of how important peace journalism is. In fact, as stated on this website, it's being taught in more than ten countries around the world. It's a whole movement of reporters and journalists, it's about the choice what to report and how to report it. On this website, you can find more articles and books on this topic.
Think about it: Reporters can make a difference! Journalists can make a difference!
Well, that's all for today's entry. In my next entry, I will talk about another important journalistic genre. Sensational Journalism. We all deal with it everyday - makes it hard to avoid! So that's why I chose to study this module as well.
Come back next week.

Internship and Peace Journalism
Hello Journalism friends,
Thanks for coming back. This week, I will be talking a bit about my internship at a small publishing house that starts in January 2018... and the new module "Peace Journalism".
I think peace journalism is a very important journalistic genre that more journalists should focus on in the future. Peace journalism has a long history, rightfully so. As part of social and christian peace movements, it started to emerge in the early 19th century. Conflict reporting has been a long-term problem. Peace journalism tries to shed some light on this issue by analyzing structural and cultural causes of violence. The goal is to avoid violence as much as possible using a specific style of reporting about a problem/issue with regards to violence. Yes, I think this genre is VERY important to study. So I'm on it!
My internship is going to be 6 months long at a local small publishing house. I'm not going to name it here, but it's responsible for our small local paper here in my hometown. Luckily, my uncle knows someone who works there and was able to pass along my curriculum vitae. I call myself a lucky girl! I will get a chance of a lifetime. So this is going to start in early January of next year until about June/July. I hope I will learn a lot there! Not just making coffee (although I'm very well capable of making coffee by now).
Next week I will hopefully talk a bit more about peace journalism and how it affects people's lives.
Next for reading my blog! Come back next week.

Finishing line
Dear followers and Journalism friends,
I realized that I will be finished with this course in December. There isn't much more to do for me after two more modules. I'm a little sad... since I've been enjoying this course so much! But I have good news: I will be interning starting in January at a small publishing house! I'm so excited!
But first things first. I finished the tabloid journalism course yesterday with great joy. It was so interesting and easy. Now I'm thinking about what comes next. I have the choice between "Sensational Journalism" and "Peace Journalism". I think both are awesome topics but I would not like to take them both. Each one is rather short, about 25 pages or so. The worst part of this course (if I may say that) was decision making - because I'm really bad at that and I wished I could have taken ALL classes.
Come back next time where I will talk about my upcoming internship!

Tabloid Journalism
Hello friends,
Welcome back to my blog! I hope you've been enjoying it as much as I've been writing it. I'm so glad to keep this as some sort of a journal for everyone to read about a journalism course that I'm taking. Soon, it'll be finished and I'm already a bit sad. I will certainly miss it a lot.
As for my next topic, I've decided to take "tabloid journalism". I feel like that is the right topic for me right now. It seems quite approachable so let's see what it is all about. There's some historical roots in the study book that's a quite interesting read. Who knew that tabloid journalism would be one of the oldest journalism genres? It is not that surprising! It is also one of the most widespread and popular journalism genres. Also not surprising! I'm really happy I chose this topic. Let's see how it will go.
Today, I don't have much else to talk about. How about you write me a message? Any questions are welcome!
