Hello all,
Well, I've finished the book in one week! I'm really proud of myself. What a great success. I really liked the topic, too. Environmental Journalism might be a major career, aside from Public Relations. But maybe I can combine the two somehow? That would be the best scenario.
I can see the finish line: I guess I will be finished with this course in about 2 months if I keep up the pace. It's hard to study during the summer but I think I can do this. It takes a lot of discipline... because the beach is right outside. But this is what I've committed to.
The next module is going to be Arts Journalism! I am really excited about that. I love art and everything connected to art. There will be an important art exhibition in October which I am planning to go to. Maybe I can write about it and send it in?
Well, that's all for today. I have to take the environmental journalism exam still. I think I will do that this weekend (yes, I can take exams anytime I want!). Saturday I think. Wish me luck.
Stay tuned for more!

Internship aftermath
Dear bloggers and journalism lovers,
I'm back! I was interning for a whole week with great success. Everyone was really nice to me till the end. I learned a lot. I asked a lot of questions. So here I am now with some more experience within a field of great interest!
Today I started studying again. It is hard to pick up where you left off sometimes. But I decided to just re-start the whole module book since I forgot some stuff that I've read like 10 days ago. Bummer. But I learned so much other new stuff as well. This time, I will make notes to make it easier for myself when it's time to study for the online exam.
Environmental journalism is an important topic. I am so glad I took this class. I think I will make the most of it and research some environmental journalists to ask them some questions. I like asking questions. :)
Well, that's all I can say for today. It's time to go back to work and study.
Stay tuned!

First day!
Hello everyone!
So today is my first day of internship at a PR agency. I am so excited! So far, I like all the co-workers there, they are treating my nicely and teach me some stuff. I have so many questions for them which makes me feel a little bad. ;) Also, I don't have to make coffee or anything - I'm just there to listen and learn! That's so awesome!
Until next Wednesday, I won't have too much time to get any study work done... unfortunately. But that's not a big deal. Still working on environmental journalism for a good two weeks or so. I am so much ahead of the schedule anyway (who knew that I'd be studying this fast?).
Today is not much time for anything else except blogging this entry real quick. Next week I will give a full retrospective of my "life" here at the agency.
Thanks for visiting this blog and stay tuned!

Environmental Journalism Part I
Hello bloggers and journalists,
Well, I've started this new module called "Environmental Journalism" a while ago. It made me think a lot while I was researching a bit for interesting topics. There is so much to write about and it is such an important message that needs to be out there. People need to be informed on the horrendous development of melting ice on the north pole. It is so sad. There's already a vast number of journalists who write about this specific issue that mankind has to deal with. I'm really happy that I get to take this class. It might help and form my later career. I really think this is the most important journalistic topic right now.
Last week's exam went well! I got a B+ which is totally great for me.
Well, the internship is getting closer and closer... I'm still very excited!
I hope to receive some interesting comments from you. Choose any topic!
For more, stay tuned until next week.
Yours,
Katy

Working and studying
Dear Journalism friends,
this has been quite a productive week for me. I'm almost finished with the Media Journalism Module. So I will be able to take the test this Friday! There is just a few more pages I need to read. Tomorrow, I will rest a bit and then on Friday is the big day.
I will officially start my internship on June 1. I'm really excited about it! I will keep a "blog diary" during this period of time, hopefully with daily updates (if I have enough time). That also means, I will be taking a week off from work (no big deal).
After Friday, I will start with a new module called "environmental journalism" which is really interesting as well. Not too thick and I think great to read! Lots of really interesting exercises, too.
What else is new? Well, I've been thinking about this whole "working and studying" thing a bit. People at work keep asking me about it (especially the question "How do you do it?"). It's not always easy, dependent on what the day is like, what my work schedule is and what kind of module I'm reading. But that's what makes it so interesting: You never know what you're gonna get (it's like a box of chocolates). But I know that it is something really special that I do for myself and no one else.
Any thoughts on that topic?
Stay tuned for next weeks entry.

Media Journalism
Hello friends and friends of Journalism,
Still very happy about how things are going for me right now. Media Journalism is really interesting and I'm about half way through the book now. I've been skipping a few of those exercises in between and just tried to solve them in my mind rather than writing it all down. Some exercises are really easy to solve for me so that shouldn't be a big deal for prep time for the exam.
My plan is to take the exam next week Friday, so I have about a week to finish the book. Let's see how that goes. Luckily, my weeks haven't been too busy.
Still really happy about the internship! I called them to find out that it's up to me when to start the internship, quote "You can come in any time". It's only going to be for a week, and that's okay. They seem really friendly on the phone. I think I might intern after this module is done. :)
Well, that is all for today. Since I have a terrible headache, I better get some rest, so I can study a bit more tonight.
Let me hear your thoughts on Media Journalism!

Happiness
Hello everyone,
I am so happy -- I received the results for my PR module and can't be any happier. Also, I got some answers back from PR agencies regarding an internship. I might be able to start one in September this year. Hooray! I've been jumping of joy in my apartment all day -- I hope my neighbors won't be upset.
I few days ago, I started a new module book, "Media Journalism". Since I had no idea what exactly Media Journalism entails, I decided to study this topic. So far, I've read a good amount of pages. It's an interesting and very current topic to be aware of. I'm glad to be reading this book. It's quite long with about 62 pages so it'll take be a few weeks to finish this time. Especially since my work schedule has gone a little mad this month. I hope it'll slow down during the summer months so I can study some more.
I'm really happy right now. Everything works so well, I'm getting fantastic grades, work flows and I will possibly be interning this fall! These studies brought me nothing but good things. :)
Stay tuned for next week's entry.
Yours,
Katy
